He emphasizes the urgency to intervene immediately, without waiting for government measures, given the current power problems at companies.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2862&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Martien Visser of Hanzehogeschool Groningen and Gasunie shares that the current power consumption of Dutch data centers already represents 2.8% of the national power need. This percentage continues to rise due to advances in technologies such as IoT\/IIoT, Industry 4.0, 5G, VR, AI and the influence of Bitcoin. This leads to significantly more data traffic and requires more energy, especially due to activities such as video streaming, gaming, mining (Bitcoins) and online communication.
